How much does GDB cost?

Pricing for Global Data Broadcast depends upon the volume of data you send and the size of the area to which you send it. Celestech will be happy to give you an estimate based upon your needs.

The Data Provider sending the data will be billed for the data broadcast usage.
Pricing will be based upon the amount of data sent and the size of the delivery area. For large user groups, GDB is priced at a very economically attractive price point.

When will GDB be available?

The GDB service is available NOW!

Please contact us if you are interested in using the service.

How does it compare to other technologies?

Global Data Broadcast is a unique service offering. No other service combines the high link margin, true global coverage, ability to regionalize coverage and content, group delivery capability and small user terminals in a single service.

GDB is not intended to replace point-to-point or peer-to-peer data services such as cellular or connection based satellite services. It is targeted at one-to-many data distribution over wide areas.

How much data can I send?

A single GDB message can be up to 10 Megabytes in size. The typical user will send messages that are only a few bytes to a few Kilobytes. Short messages (100 bytes or less) are delivered very quickly. As message size grows, it takes longer to deliver the complete message.

What data delivery rate can I expect?

Data delivery rates vary with system load and capacity and range from a few kilobytes an hour to about a megabyte per hour.
